Installation and Fastening

6 Questions

How is the mirrored wall installed?

Using brackets on the wall. Drill four 6-mm-diameter holes in each panel, then insert one screw from the top and one from the bottom through the bracket into the frame. At about 2 kg/m², one person can do this alone.

Do I need to drill?

For the mirrored wall, yes—four holes per panel. The full-length mirror is so light that one nail is enough, just like with a picture. If you don't want to mount it on a wall at all, you can use the mirror on casters or the full-length mirror with a stand.

Will the mirror stick to drywall?

Yes. Because it is so lightweight, the mirrored wall does not need to be a load-bearing wall. The key is the anchor: use a hollow-wall anchor for drywall, and an expansion anchor for concrete or brick. If a screw strips when you tighten it, the anchor will not hold and must be replaced.

Can I place several mirrors next to each other?

Yes. The mirrored wall is available in 2-, 4-, and 6-panel configurations up to 720 cm wide. The panels fit together with a narrow gap. A single, seamless panel up to 3 m wide is available as a custom-made option.

How is the ceiling mirror mounted?

Magnetic. The magnets are attached to the ceiling, and their counterparts are on the mirror. For more information, see the page on ceiling mirrors.

Can I hang the mirror somewhere else later?

Yes. Unscrew the brackets, remove the mirror, and drill four new holes in the new location. The mirror, which is mounted on casters, simply rolls to wherever you need it.

Yes. You have a 30-day money-back guarantee, in addition to your statutory right of withdrawal. Email us at support@elamirror.de with your order number, and we'll send you all the information you need about returns.

A piece is missing. Can anyone help me?

The returns portal also handles missing parts. Enter your order number, select what's missing, and you're done. We'll get back to you with a replacement.

Delivery and Shipping

4 Questions

How long does delivery take?

Standard sizes will be delivered to you in about 10 business days; custom sizes in about 14 business days.

Where is my order?

As soon as your mirror is on its way, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number from the shipping provider. Be sure to check your spam folder as well. If you don't see anything, please email us at support@elamirror.de with your order number.

How is the mirror delivered?

Pre-stretched and ready for installation, not rolled. Large formats are shipped via a freight carrier and are transported upright, never flat. This ensures the surface arrives at your location perfectly flat.

Materials, Technology, and Care

9 Questions

What is an elamirror® made of?

Made from a four-layer HD film, stretched over an 18-mm-deep aluminum frame using a patented process. No glass, no backing board, no adhesive layer.

Is this a mirror film that you stick on?

No. You'll receive a ready-to-use mirror: The film has already been stretched over the frame at the factory. You don't have to glue anything or adjust the tension.

Is the reflection as sharp as it is in glass?

Yes, and it has one advantage: Since there's no lens in front of the mirror coating, you get a single image instead of a slight double image. Plus, there's no green tint.

What happens if something falls on it?

Nothing shatters because it doesn't contain any glass. This is the most common reason for choosing an elamirror® for children's rooms, home gyms, and sports halls.

How much does an elamirror® weigh?

About 2 kg/m². A glass mirror weighs between 10 and 15 kg/m² (standard market values).

Does the mirror in the bathroom fog up?

No. A nano-coating keeps the surface clear even when exposed to steam, without needing any power source.

Is the surface scratch-resistant?

The top layer is a scratch-resistant coating that can withstand everyday use. You should still keep sharp, hard objects away from it, though.

How do I clean the mirror?

Use a soft microfiber cloth and glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners and rough sponges.

Can I cut the mirror to size myself?

No. The film is stretched over the frame; cutting it would release the tension. For specific sizes, custom-made mirrors are available.
